How about an animated version where the counter rolls over?

for mode 0, I set a different x and y aspect, then use view "dot for dot".
Then you can enjoy chunkyness.

I noticed something like this on your site some time back, unfortunately I'm using a later version of GIMP which was set out a bit different from the instructions on your site, will have to dig them up again to see if I can make sense of what I can do in GIMP to generate the right effect.
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D * And create my own ;)
* Incorporating the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D

You're just afraid of the challenge :D Could be done with a small LCD stuck on the front :)

In fact adding a working power LED, now that would be cool (extremely nerdy).

Ok so I guess my isometric won't make it into production stage... :-[

You could have it as a lenticular/hologram. I have a lenticular Astro boy  t-shirt from Japan that animates in 2 images. The first image being the astro boy and the second, the mechanics inside his body.

This would look pretty nice with computers showing the inner workings of the motherboard.

I'm sure someone will find a use for it, I personally think it would look better on a t-shirt than mine would.

@CP/M User: apologies mate if I offended you. Pixel art is something different than digital painting. From Wikipedia:
QuotePixel art is a form of digital art, created through the use of raster graphics software, where images are edited on the pixel level. Graphics in most old (or relatively limited) computer and video games, graphing calculator games, and many mobile phone games are mostly pixel art.

So, basically, it's when you draw something pixel by pixel

@EgoTrip: regarding shading, hm, not really sure, maybe some diagonal gradients from lighter to darker?

No offence taken.

I sent arnoldemu a few routines which plots pixles from a series of colours which almost makes plotting an image straightfoward, well the last one I wrote is, since it isn't hungry on memory, of course it would need some adjustments to go in mode 0 and mode 2.

Ahhh this is ultra-cute (although it's much thinner than it should!). I've actually seen this elsewhere... I wonder who's done it. I'm thinking new wiki logo :)

Devilmarkus

I added the link to the website of the owner who made it. ;)

Ah! It's retrospec... that's probably where I had seen it! But I like the idea of such a rendering (I mean the CPC in pixel-style) for the logo :)

If you want an image to print on a t-shirt, I would have thought a high resolution image would look better on a t-shirt than a low resolution image.

Unless of course you are going for the blocky, retro pixel look

steve

Gryzor

Thanks, Steve, though this is not pixel art but a render. These are the ones advertised in Retro Gamer, too.
