Nice, but it's still not going to distract guys from looking at your tits T-shirt. :D
Bryce.
Nice mug, but at the best part of a tenner? I'll just stick with my cheap wilkos mugs.

Right, we get it. There's a woman on the CPC Wiki. OMG!!!! Can a small group of men stop making a carnival out of it? It shouldn't matter either way.
Yeah, sure, they're only jokes, get a sense of humour, blah blah blah. But whether or not lynwen is bothered by them, I'm sure as hell bored of seeing them popping up everywhere, and I don't think they would encourage other female users of the CPC to sign up.

Sorry, I forgot there's also completely humourless people on the Wiki, not just women. It was a "running joke" which you obviously missed or didn't understand.
Either way, I've just ordered myself a C64 version. After all, it's contents are going to be brown most of the time. :)
Bryce.

lol sick burn d00d you sure told me!
QuoteIt was a "running joke" which you obviously missed or didn't understand.
Fine in the case of people who were in on it, if they were – not that it's realistic to expect me to know the details of everyone else's inside jokes. My point was that things like this don't present a great image to other women who might be reading. That doesn't imply that any real offence was ever meant, but how are people to discern between jocularity and sincerity based upon words alone?
But sure, questioning stereotypical patterns of behaviour from another perspective isn't ever useful and indicates that the person doing so is "humourless" in all areas of life. Thanks for the lesson.

I am with db 6128 on this. True they are jokes but they could definitely put off other women from joining.
I think we can continue to have jokes without these kind.

Ok, I understand your side of the argument too, but I doubt it's the joke-posts that put women off reading the forum, rather the other 99.9% of the posts, that just don't tend to get women readers. Our subject and not our humour is what lacks appeal for women :)
Either way, judging from Lynwens other posts so far, she seems to be a person with good humour, so I doubt she took offence. If I thought it would offend I wouldn't have posted it in the first place. And beside all that, the comment in question makes more fun of guys and their "habits", it doesn't make fun of women.
Bryce.

I agree with you on all the points you've made.
Bryce, I wasn't pointing the blame directly at you, my agreement with db6128 and comments were more for the whole community. I don't want to stop the humour because it is part of what makes the forum the place it is, and I do it myself.
Personally, I do think some types of humour should be avoided. The "general humour" we have here as you could call it should continue.
I want everyone to feel welcome and stick around and enjoy it as they do now.
From what I've seen the cpcwiki forum community continues to grow and attract new members. This is great. :)

back to topic.
I would love a t-shirt that has "Ready" (centered and near the top), yellow text on blue in the Amstrad font, and the stick person character (with their arms in the air and his legs out stretched like they are jumping) from the Amstrad font underneath.
Same on a mug would be just fine.

Go on, I know they're dirty words (from an English perspective with the backlash it sometimes creates) but say it; "Politically Correct" humour should continue, I assume that's what you're alluding to and dominates the English psyche (including mine) these days ;D

Yes. Experience tells me this is best.
The actual *image* on the mug is fantastic (anyone's got it in high-res???) but the mug itself is so plain and common... pity.

Kevin agreed with my post, and I can only agree completely with his, which says it quite a bit better. :D I don't think anyone here has bad intentions and hope it didn't seem like I thought so: I just wanted to avoid misunderstandings that might result from people not being sure of others' intentions, which, after all, are especially difficult to determine through text. :)

Yeah, it's a very nice picture. Needs more 6128, though. ;)
Come on, the 464 is way more beautiful :)

We could use this pic to produce some t-shirts actually...
