having only 'just' rediscovered the joy of my CPC464, I was wondering if there is one archive out there that the scene recognizes as THE archive for CPC software? What I'm talking about is a software archive that has a goal of collecting, in digital form, all software (and variants inc. localized versions) ever made for the CPC's?
And totally off-topic:
Is there anyone that have a 'spare' 664 or a 6128 that I could buy CHEAP.

There is the GoodROMs CPC set, and then there's the CPC TOSEC archive. Or you could download the CPCGamesCD (check it out on the wiki), for all practical purposes it's complete and you're ready to go with it.
No cheap 664s out there I'm afraid :D

:-[ I didn't think about that the 664 might be kinda rare, but it's understandable, I suppose....
The reason I want a 664/6128, is that it will be easier to bring with me as the disk drive is internal. I'm planning to use it for a "historic computer" project at the school where I teach, and it will be easier to transport with less loose cables and stuff, compared to my 464/DDI-1. I have already done some lessons teaching a few kids Locomotive Basic using the WinApe emulator, and I have also "fired up" the MESS emulator, showing them all the major computers of the 80s. It seems like todays "spoiled" kids with their multimedia laptops actually finds joy in playing with good old Basic. ;D It would be cool to show them a real CPC to play around with. I have already hooked up an old Dragon 32, but I don't have a disk drive for it.

There are serveral arhives the deals with archiving CPC programs.
CPCWIKI is one of them, always looking for more entries ;D

Btw, indeed, what you do with your students is simply great. I find that old computers have a lot to teach and help put things in a better perspective. For instance - I've always said that when I have a kid I'll start playing Pong or with my 2600 with him/her!
