Hi All,
I intend to create a selection of YouTube videos featuring my Amstrad CPC 464 with GT-65 green screen; I've already put a few recordings up, e.g.:
Sorcery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yswANPMayA#)
I was wondering if anyone knows a way of eliminating the annoying flicker on the monitor that shows up in the video? I imagine it's to do with a difference in scan rate between the monitor and the camera, but I've no idea how to solve it.
Yours,
Duncan Bayne
Yeah, that's the strobe effect indeed. What is the framerate of the GT anyway? I forget!
Anyhow, video processing programs can remove the filtering for you - I've seen it with Adobe's products, though there are obviously others. What you can easily do is turn off image stabilisation in your camera settings, if there is an option. Also, if you do get an fps setting, try playing with it, if there's a setting with a multiple of the monitor's refresh rate it should help greatly.
Those ghost things are mighty fast! Not seen this game before

Check out Sorcery+ too, its sequel. At first it looks like Sorcery, but it gets impressive :)

Same as the colour monitor as it's set by the CPC, so normally 50Hz.
Thanks - I'll try fiddling with the camera rate first, and failing that, try post-processing the video. Pity YouTube doesn't do it automagically ...
Connect the CPC to an LCD monitor, then you don't have that issue.
Bryce.
Well, then why not just run it in an emulator and capture the video?
