cheers i looked on the wiki but it says the dip switches are there but gives no hint as to what setting is what, kind of like having a g7000 233 in 1 without its manual (only a lot less switches, the g700 multi cart has 14 of the suckers).

anyway "all switches on" is all i think i'm going to need 99% of the time. ;D

(at least until i have a desire to load the diagnostic cart for some entertainment)
I have just cpatured a short video of the c4cpc in use on my 464++ (128k and Disk Interface)

It shows both the CART Selector in Slot 15 but also the Patched Cart in Slot 0 and FW3.15 in slot 1

If wanted I'll add one from the GX4000 too  :)

Teeheehee, I just noticed the soundtrack playing on my Mac is audible in the background. Can anyone identify *EXACTLY* what I was listening to tonight - And it's a wierd one!!

Erm, Not quite... Not even close.. Hell you don't know how far wrong that would be, I am not even sure it is possible to be more wrong ;) I just listened again, there are quite a lot of clues in there.

thanks for that, makes things a little more obvious i just wish the makers had simply added something to say slot 0 = 0000, slot 1 = 1000 and so on upto slot 15 = 1111 like pretty much every switched card on the market, i do love the fact that you can customise those slots though, that's very neat.

that 464 plus may not have sold well and been massively underpowered compared to it's compatriots but i have to admit it's a very nice looking machine  (better than anything else of its era) especially when compared to the draught excluder style of the cpc's and amstrad produced spectrums.

CraigsBar

I like it. Although mine has been to doctor @Bryce 's workshop of delights to be upgraded to 6128+ spec. It's either a 4128+ or a 464++

Although I have 2 6128+ machines as well, it's the 464+ that I user most of the time.

i really don't blame you, as i said it's an absolutely great looking machine i really can see one in my future even if it's only to look at ;) (but it'll probable get wired to my hcx assuming it's just a simple cable swap to take it off my st, although obviously i'd need to get some kind of a disc interface for the 464+ as if i recall from reading about it they didn't include one).

but sadly it'll have to wait.

ImpaledGryphon

well, i've finally gone and done it :D

just bought a 464 with scart cable and a copy of the beau jolly big box so i still need a psu but then i'll be a fully fledged cpc owner and feel less of a fraud on here, i'm assuming that i can use my gx joypads or any regular atari type joystick like my quickshot 128f or 138f.

what should i be looking for in a psu? consider that it's likely i'll be adding bits to the machine at some future point so i'll need some spare capacity.

Dizrythmia

I'm currently hosting a retro gaming museum at a convention where my 6128 & GX4000 are side by side, each with those controllers :)

that's good to know, at least it's not like the amstrad speccys that need an adaptor to use a standard controller.

Gryzor

A bit late to the party (still catching up with the threads after my vacation), but welcome, @ImpaledGryphon !

Funny way to see it, describing yourself as a fraud :D I'd say everyone is welcome even if one has no machines whatsoever, but I understand the feeling :)

i have to say, i've been made to feel most welcome, which is nice.

my c4cpc shipped last week so hopefully it'll be here soon then i can finally get to expand my gx4000 horizons.

i did buy a cpc 464 a few weeks ago but as yet it hasn't been sent, i thought no psu was included but the seller said she'd lost it and was still looking so i've been waiting for her to find it, hopefully it'll get sent in the next week or so.

i'm no closer to a plus, i just can't warrant the prices they go for at the moment.

i had a bit of a recount of my systems, turns out i'm around the 100 mark not 60 as i originally thought.

... Pro Tennis Tour supports the analogue  joystick I believe for one of the players.

Well, I'm sorry to tell that the 6128 Plus game Pro Tennis Tour on Cartridge does NOT support the analogue joystick port. I tested two different analogue joysticks which worked with other software. Took me quite a while to check this, but I kept it on my TO DO list.  :)
