Welcome. Of that only recently I was considering an Atari 8 bit machine... That rgb game is that addictive.

The guys here know pretty much everything there is to know CPC wise.

Maybe we could have a give & take :)
I own an Atari 130XE as well as my Amstrad CPC 464 & 6128. I don't use the XE much as I only have some games on cartridge. I haven't had much of a chance to delve into it though.

Hello! I have never had an Atari but I still remember that the ST and the CPC have a very similar audio chip (although I think that Amstrad´s one has lower clock).

Well the Amstrad CPC is my fyrst step in the 8-bit world so I can not give much advise on the 8 bit line of Atari such as the XE, I have been with the 16/32 bit line of computers from atari ST, STE, and Falcon and those computers are faster and have a bit more memory, (not that it matters if you are looking for the fun we are after) but for some reson I always wanted a amstrad cpc 464 since I saw one at my friends home when I was a kid, I like the looks of it alot,
One question: What is the must have upgrade I need to enjoy my beast?

Well. Disc interface and HxC SD adaptor would be top of my list, followed by (in order)

X-mem (and mother4x)
X-mass
Minibooster
PlayCity

But that is me lol!

Look into the DDI-1 clone interface, they are still available on SellMyRetro I think. £50 and it's transformed my 464, together with the Gotek HxC.

I look at it this way, you may as well have as much as possible to get the most out of your CPC, right? :)

Hello and welcome here. The CPC Wiki provides all you need. However there is still room for improvement of course. Have fun!  :)

Firstly , Welcome [emoji4] , I'm a big fan of the ST , fantastic piece of technology. Hope you enjoy your Amstrad.

But I do have to echo the sentiments of AMSDOS. You're girl got you an Amstrad !  , I hope you appreciate how truly blessed you are [emoji2]
