Hi all just got my first Amstrad a CPC464 non working I figured
whats the best way to learn..

Welcome
Tell us what is wrong (Not working), Pictures, voltages etc
Also have a look on the forum for others that have had Faulty units an how they went about fixing it.

I'm still getting stuff together I did plug it in and get a burnt sell
from the cassette drive red led came on then my PSU shut down..

Hi Chris


Please unplug the cassette player First.


Please check the Voltages that you are using that feed to the amstrad (Unloaded and then if within reason Loaded)
Loaded voltages should be +5 Volts (Tip) and - (MiINUS)12 Volts (tip)  Oops 464 Not 6128.

Yes, check the voltage as described.

It's 5 volt I use a ZoZo PA-3012-ZM 12Watts 2 Amp and can be changed from
3 volt to 12..

I still have to make a video cable so I can see if i'm doing anything... ;D
