Hello everyone,
Just joined the CPC Forum as I've recently bought a CPC464 and will like to squeeze its capabilities as much as I can :)
I've loved 8bit computers since childhood, but the CPC was a system that I havent used much (until now  ) as I was a Speccy user.
This forum rocks! I saw Duke's M4 development and certainly has my respect. I wish I can join soon the list of owners.
Same for SymbOS, which is an incredible piece of OS.
Well I hope to have some good time around here 8)
I was the opposite of you, I had the 464, and am now moving out into the Speccy!
The M4 is certainly a great 'all round' device, as it offers disk emulation and more, and its very cost effective... You may want to consider a memory upgrade in the future too, as many games require 128k, but a ram upgrade will easily solve that.
if do you want to consider ram upgrade try looking at this:

If you really want to try to get something new out of the old systems, you may want to look at software development, I never did any ASM back in the day, but with the great tools, emulators and documentation around now, it's a lot easier than it was, and it's a lot of fun making these old machines do what you want!

Thanks for the warm welcome and the suggested memory expansion. You certainly did read my mind!
I don't know however if this expansion is open source and can be home-made, but looks like the perfect complement for the M4!
Welcome mate, and please do come back :)
Hello and welcome to the forum Quickie.
Welcome!!!
