Well, the seller is German and made a good deal. The buyer is probably from Spain or Norway, I dunno.

Well the Eprom card itself is definitly one of the best you can get, but it's still just an EPROM card.
It can take up seven 32 KB EPROMs (or 16 KB or 8 KB types too). So it provides space for 14 ROMs, and the ROM numbers can be individually assigned. By accident I own the same kind of card, it's a rather common one from the famous Dobbertin company. But the price is higher than it was new (at the end)!

Some people still want to collect the original devices, even if there are better modern solutions. They just like owning old stuff.

NO, it's not Norway as far as I know  :o

I have to admit I was a bit tempted when I saw the auction, but I did (probably like most others) know that this auction could end up with a very high price tag. It could have been nice to have it in a collection, just for the purpose of having it. As for practical us with the CPC , Bryce have already 'killed'  ;D the marked with the MegaFlash card ! ! ! Can't wait till he does the same with memory extensions  ;)

It looks like you could choose the ROM No. of each individual EPROM, what a mess. Does anyone know who made this device? Is it in our Wiki? The owner was also selling a much more interesting device. He called it "Maxam Macro-assembler", but it looked like it also had it's own RAM expansion. Can't remember how much it went for though.

Hi!

I think this board is very similair to the Dobbertin EPROM 224 (Dobbertin EPROM 224 - CPCWiki - The Ultimate Amstrad CPC Community & (http://cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Dobbertin_EPROM_224))

At least it looks very much like the Dobbertin board by looking at the no of slots and placement of components!

Yes, the EPROM Board is a Dobbertin device, but the "Maxam Macro-assembler" ? Did anyone save the ebay link?

The other card is just the standart 512 KB RAM expansion, which provides two sockets for 16 KB EPROMs as a bonus. Also made by the famous Dobbertin company.

Not really cheap:

eBay: Neue und gebrauchte Elektronikartikel, Autos, Kleidung, Sammlerstcke, (http://www.ebay.de/itm/350559738258?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1532.l2649&_trksid=p3984.m1532.l2649)

Considering that it is just a cheap printer port adapter and software that's available on the web, that's a lot to pay.

Well, it is in perfect condition and boxed... That alone should account for, oh, €5 extra?
