Thanks for letting me join, great to be here! I've recently bought an Amstrad CPC 464 with a green screen monitor, looking forward to contributing where I can  :)

Welcome!  :)

Hi! Welcome  :)
464 + green monitor is how I came back to the Amstrad (and ended with most of the rest of the hardware hehe)

adam1977

I know what you mean, i've just bought an MP-1, I did have high hopes with it but the picture is just s*#*

I think it's output is PAL composite. The MP2f does RGB, I had one sold with a 464 on ebay (nostalgia)It's better to have the RGB cable alone and a modern 5V PSU.

I've seen a YouTube video where someone attached a scart lead to their MP-1, so I might have a go at that  :D

A green screener eh! Welcome to the forum!

I use a RGB->VGA box (the cheapo ones sold for arcade cabs) and it works great for my non scart TV, so there's certainly options out there to get you sorted!

You just bought the CPC eh? What do you have planned for it? are you a 'returner' to the CPC, or is this your first time with one... either way, I hope you enjoy the new CPC!

Many thanks, i've never owned one before! My childhood computer was an Atari 800XL, but after a couple of years I got fed up of no new games being released, so I hankered after a CPC. A friend of mine at Junior school had one, with the green screen monitor, and we used to play Bruce Lee together lots and so I persuaded my parents that I needed a new computer. We nearly bought a second hand one locally, but the Son of the fella that was selling it inadvertently blurted out that there was a fault with it  ;D  So we declined and I ended up with a Sinclair Spectrum +3, which came with 200 cassettes but only one disk (Nomad I think) It was a good computer and I really enjoyed owning it, lot's of good memories there.

Anyway, fast forward many years and here I am, fulfilling a childhood dream of a CPC with a green screen monitor!  :D

I must say that the CPC is the latest in a long line of retro consoles and computers and I like it a lot... I currently also own an Intellivision, a ColecoVision, a CollectorVision Phoenix, PSOne and two Atari 800's, plus some modern consoles just for good measure  ;)

Ah I remember bruce lee!... I think we had it on the CPC, but I played it more on the PC1512...

Was never any good at it, but it came with the machine, so it got some playing!... The Yamo(?) guy's yawning action used to amuse me no end!

Welcome. :)

Reminds me I did a lil test sprite of Bruce Lee a lil while ago to try make it look more a bit more like him and with a less offensive stereotype skin tone.  I think it looks ok.   :)

Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

Looks good to me! I'm a member of the Atari Age forum and a clever member called TIX has tweaked the characters on Bruce Lee:

It's a fabulous game, there's a sequel in the works too for the Atari 8-bit computers, the C64 version has already been released, has anyone ported it over to the CPC yet?

Got inspired by the Threads over there, and started with disassembling it.Hacked a very first draft of a Viewer. Its also a "learning project" with Monodevelop, C# and GTK because im on Linux.
