Title: My Amstrad setup :)
Post by: XFile2708 on 17:05, 19 December 12
Well I finally managed to get all my Amstrad stuff unboxed and into the house (before they were all stored in the Summer House) - managed to 'bagsie' an area in one of the kids bedrooms so now its all setup I thought I'd post some pics so you can see the setup I've got for all my Amstrad collection as it stands today..

Hopefully I'll be replacing the glass table after christmas with something that'll allow me to have the keyboard and the monitor on the same level - as you can probably tell im quite OCD with having all the cassettes in alphabetical order etc...

Anyway let me know what you think guys  8)

be careful with that TV stand (I believe it's the same as the one I got with my Samsung LCD TV?) - I broke both the TV and the stand.  The shelves are actually glass and shatter into 1000's of pieces.  so no picking up the monitor and accidentally dropping it from 3ft above  :o

I tip my hat to you on your mighty fine collection though, Sir  8)   although you may need something better to sit on than the floor, the floor was okay when we were 14, but after a few hours gaming you'll have trouble getting back up again!

lol thanks matey - I''ve got a cheapy chair that I didn't want to show on the picture and ruin it...  I think I'll be spending a fair bit of time on there now its all setup indoors so maybe time to invest in a new chair as well

Try some image hosting site like imageshack and put the code for the forums that you get there to embed the pictures on your post.

I tried that originally but it didn't seem to pickup the IMG codes...  I'll give it another try now...

Thanks Shane - it'll all change when the glass table gets replaced and at some point soon I need to rethink how im going to keep and display the games as there's not a lot of room left on those shelves with still quite a number of games on my 'wanted list'.... thats all part of the fun though I guess

Awesome setup!  :)

We had an awesome setup too a while back, with multiple retrocomputers.

But we had to take it down to make room for the kid. We still have a C64 and an CPC6128 connected to the bedroom TV though, where we're currently playing Orion Prime before going to sleep. And I also have a CPC464 connected to my PC monitor/TV to it's easy to switch between PC and CPC.  :)

Sure, a brand new CPC when you was young... Not your father deprecated stuff. ;)

Ah, i see the faithful ikea billy book case. You can get extra shelves for these, makes them more useful for small height items like tapes.

Nope they're the Argos value shelves - £12 each

Really lovely setup, congrats sir!

As for the images: sometimes the images fail due to overly strict security checks, that's a bug with the forum software. Usually opening them in an image-editing program and resaving them solves the issue.

But, please, NO IMAGESHACK CRAP, we've discussed this already :D

Not sure the burning candles are good for electronic devices...

But this makes great for a cool lighting anyway. ;)

You could go for a modern VGA flat monitor for the PC I guess, but hey, CRT were nice too, just bulky..
