Actually not a kid anymore...
My name is Harris and I am from Athens.
I was the happy owner of a brand new CPC 6128 back in 1986 after convincing my father that it will assist me at school 8)
I ended up not being able to wake up for school due to playing Daley Thompson's Decathlon and Bombjack overnight.
I remember buying magazines and typing endless code lists.
I even had developed my own game with Amstrad Basic (a hangman clone).
Then the Amiga came and I gave my CPC to the computer shop in order to reduce the price
Last week I was searching in the basement and found my Amy well packed together with a Pacman joystick (the metalic Greek one). I connected the cables and it was working. It was great to play Kick Off 2 after 25 years.
But something was missing. I wanted my CPC back :'(
Today I am expecting my new old CPC 6128. I purchased off ebay only the keyboard and I will start from there.
Reverting with pictures when it arrives :D
Welcome to the forum!
Good to hear you're coming back to the CPC! I hope it lives up to your memories!
At least you got an Amiga for your old CPC! Ours got given away!
Welcome aboard.
Have a search around and see what some of the guys here have done with hardware projects. For a CPC6128, you should look up the Amstrad CPC Wifi thread. The M4 board is worth getting just to be able to load games off an SD card, you can even hook your phone up to your 6128 and load the games from the SD card using a browser. I'm not kidding. ;D
Well that was a standard path in Greece, after the CPC we moved to the Amiga while zx users to ST (mostly).
I still have mine though while I sold my A500 and later my A2000.
Welcome aboard πατριώτη.
Welcome! :)
Welcome, :) Never looked it at it that way before. My Dad had a Zx & QL and moved to the Atari ST while I had the CPC and moved to the Amiga for a while"
