Title: The fatal bug in your Amstrad
Post by: Bread80 on 10:25, 01 April 24
Did you know your Amstrad contains a bug which will eventually cause it to crash?!

I've written a post with a full explanation of the problem: https://bread80.com/2024/04/01/why-your-amstrad-cpc-might-crash-in-2104/

Of course, it's April Fools day and I could be making all this up. Or just grossly exaggerating. But you'll need to click the link to find out!

Jesus  :o

I immediately opened my CPC6128, to check !

But to my surpise, there was already a mod, I
made obvisualy years ago.
I replaced the Z80 with a MOS6510 - together with its
CIA (Complex Interface Adapter)
So it's TOD (Time Of Day) is not affected. It starts from
zero, every new day!

I'm lucky

According to certain sources, the ROM's developers didn't really care about that, because they knew the RTC battery would have leaked before any overflow could occur.

Amiga restorers are laughing.
