Title: Where does these tunes come from?
Post by: redbox on 13:05, 03 June 25
I have 4 tunes and I have no idea where any of them came from. Can anyone help please?

I've attached MP3s recorded from WinAPE to this post.

2.mp3 and 3.mp3 are tunes which I made on Soundtrakker looong ago. Both are covers/conversions and the original tracks were

https://demozoo.org/music/145988/ for track 2

and

https://deepsid.chordian.net/?file=/MUSICIANS/M/Magnar/Smash.sid for track 3

Thanks BSC, that's great.

Were yours used in any demos or games?

I have a vague recollection of having a disc full of Soundtrakker music so maybe they came from there.

- 2.mp3 is called "twist2.sng" by @BSC and was at least used in the menupart of my Prodatron Megademo (https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=1191)
- 3.mp3 by @BSC was used in the second world of Zap't'Balls - the advanced edition (https://youtu.be/hP3om4uB9jA?si=3UrHQNCxCM34CCxd&t=993), see at 16:33

I recognize 1 and 4 as well, I think I used at least one of them in a disc mag (Fastloader or X-Treme, no idea), I am sure, that both are Sound Tracker songs, too.

- 4.mp3 is "duckmix.sng" (or maybe .128), I have no idea from which author.

So yes, all four are SoundTrakker (128) sounds.

Yes, indeed, "The Song" aka "Twist" was (amongst others) used in Elmsoft's awesome Stunt Race FX demo:

And "Smash" was, I think, used in the official Soundtrakker Demo. It's quite possible
that you'll find a link to that on https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Soundtrakker

Fun fact about that one. The title tune was a conversion of the original SNES one, just done in Soundtrakker.

Probably Duck (one half of the Fraggle & Duck team), based on the filename. I know that all four tunes featured in their game Crazy Snake (https://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=479).
