Title: 512k memory expansion wrong cable!
Post by: lordoftime on 13:42, 09 April 20
Hi I recently got a 512k ram expansion for my 6128plus but the cable that it came with has left me confused as its obviously worng! its the plus connector going to a female slot rather than the 50 pin ide style connector - I have tried contacting the people i got it from but are having no response so can somebody here sell me or make me a correct cable please?

The 6128plus as the German CPC6128 have the favorable 50 pin Centronics connectors. That's great.

However your cable probably has a connector for an 50 pin edge port used with CPC464, CPC664 and some CPC6128.

Now, what can you do?

1. Get a male 50 pin Centronics connector and crimp it on your cable
Example: https://www.amazon.in/Cablesonline-5-Pack-Centronics-Connector-Cn-203-5/dp/B072N4P2VZ (https://www.amazon.in/Cablesonline-5-Pack-Centronics-Connector-Cn-203-5/dp/B072N4P2VZ)

2. Make a new flat cable with two crimp connectors

Yes, but quite a bit of pushing is required. The easiest way of doing it is to carefully line up the flat cable and then squeeze the connector closed in a vice.
