Title: cpc 6128 plus fault
Post by: caver99 on 09:47, 23 July 24
i picked up a 6128 plus from a garage find and it was rusty as hell,
ive cleaned it up and replaced some passives that looked suspect.
it didnt have the system cart, i bought a couple including the 16in1 cart, with games and diag on it.
below is an image of what is shown when any of them carts are inserted.
i then bought a genuine cart modded with parados and i get a working system.

would any one have any idea what to look at with this issue.

From memory I would suggest one of the following problems:
- Bad connection between Cartridge and its port (cleaning the ports contacts it not an easy task though)
- ACID malfunctioning
- ASIC fault, but probably / hopefully not, since there is at least something on screen.

Solution: lend a native BASIC Cartridge and try to clean the Cart port very carefully (Q-Tips + Alcohol p.a.).

i have a replacement native but it has parados instead of amsdos and it works as it should
the blue screen with yellow text, this is where i am getting baffled.

i will try and take some more pics later with and with out the parados cart

the other carts dont have the acid chips they have the ls chips.

i am now able to get a system cqart with the ls chip to work with amdos and burnin rubber, i am able to get the 16 in 1 cart to work.
replacemnt cherry mx switch springs 60 g arruved and are slightly to lon and need top coil clipping but work really well as replacements for rusted/missking keyboard springs.
just have top find my key caps now that have been sort securly lol that secure i cant find them grr
