Title: CPC 6128 without Floppy power cable
Post by: wietze on 23:57, 27 August 22
Hi there guys,

I have recently obtained an Amstrad CPC 6128. However the floppy drive power cable has been cut off. I am able to power the machine and everything seems to be in working order (apart from the floppy drive).

I am wondering where to go from here with the machine. I would really like to replace the inner drive with a gotek-kind of replacement; assuming that I can not `simply' use it externally.

Would the powercable need to be restored in order to connect the gotek drive internally? Are there any other special requirements to take into account? Im rather green with this machine, so apologies for the trivial question in advance.

Kind regards,
Wietze (spkr/smfx)

Gotek needs 5 Volt (~0,4 Watt, 0,08 A) only.

You have 5V on 27 pin and GND on 2 pin of expansion port.
