Hi,
i just adapted a Svideo adapter "Pal" to "Ntsc"
I put pin 1 "only" to 5v and i changed the crystal.
Now image is black and white on my TV. The specs says that the TV/Monitor is NTSC.... i doubt... the model is Philips 231T1
I use Svideo via SCART.
Any ideas if it is normal or not ? and if i can test it. I don't want to ship items i'm not sure it works or not.
thanks !!!! ;) ;) ;)
If it's an AD724 based adapter, then that's all you need to do. Maybe the TV isn't as NTSC as they thought. :) Do you have access to another TV to test it?

I have another TV. I'll try to test on it.
In fact, after replacing the crystal, I have connected pin1 to 5v Only :
1 - I've cut the trace between pin 1 and 2
2 - I've cut from pin 1 to the 100nF capacitor.
3 - Then I've connected the same 100nF capacitor to pin 2 (so the capacitor is connected to the GND)
4 - And finally i've connected pin 1 to 5V.
Is it right ? or am i wrong ?
NTSC from USA is different than NTSC from Japan.
My TV can display in color PAL, SECAM and one of NTSC (I don't know which one). Anyway I had to modify my PSX, to NTSC games was look colorful by composite. :)
Maybe your problem is similar.
