When I connect an HXC drive to a DDI it defaults to head 1 and thus will not read the loaded disk because this is set as head 0.
The only way I can get it to work is to cut the sockets pin 32, the cable has to be plugged in reversed to get the correct connections and work, ie pin 3 becomes pin 32
The odd thing is that I have an HXC install in a 6128 as drive A internally and it does no have this problem yet it is the identical circuitry as far as I can see. ??? ?
Is there a way to automate this?
What is missing that the 6128 seems to correct?

It has been suggested I put in a pull up resistor:
"Pin 8 on IC202  will require a 1000 Ohm to 2200 Ohm Pullup to + 5 volts to set the Nside1 to 0 (First Side)."

I am going to put in an A/B switch in the external drives so that I can move them around easily on the cable.
You have to keep swapping the drive select on them each time you change the plug order.
PS. That is the monitor in the photo that had the vertical rolling problem, rock solid with the new LA7800.  :D
