I recently found a slim FDD Sony mpf820 and i was wondering how can i install it to my Amstrad. First thing i notice was ribbon cable of this drive and the absence of power cable... Anyway i later learn that there are cables to provide from one side 26 pins and on the other 34 pins+power connection. So i managed to buy one!!! The second problem was the housing but i was lucky enough to find stl files witch i can provide to all... (Not my work but i really don't know the name of the creator).
The third and my major problem is the wiring of this project.... Unfortunately i am not so familiar with this subject so i need a little help in order to understand the procedure... I can understand a drawing, a detailed photo or lets say an already solution that i don't know(something that already is in sale on the market that gonna solve my problem)...
So guys i am asking you help if someone knows how to do this wiring in order to have this project in work!!!
Thank you all in advance.
Apostolis.
You had enough room to fit both A and B drives inside! ;D
If this is a 1.44MB device, there may be a problem with starting it at all.

I've done this in the past for a mod, but without a commercial adapter. The adapter converts from Laptop to PC, so further changes are still needed and it was easier to convert it all in one go with single wires. There's some details here: https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/464-mod/msg46165/#msg46165
Where I also claim that I would later upload the info to this page: https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DIY:Floppy_Drives .... But I obviously never did!! :picard: But you can find the CPC to PC changes here, that you will need to do.
I'll see if I can find any additional info in my archive and send it to you later.
Bryce.
Is there any possibility for this to be a solution???
