Hi All
Is there a ROM that can be used to test Disk Drives..
I have a drive that says it cannot read, I can not test the Speed of the drive as it can not load Test Programs.
Or is it possible for the Software gurus to put something in ROM for me.
Thanks Ray
Is there any way that this can be put in a rom Please.
Ray
TFM made a rom out of DskTest a while back:
DskTest v0.1.47b (release?) (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/dsktest-v0-1b/msg98206/#msg98206)
(I've tried to do this myself, but never succeeded in getting anything working out of Softbrenner...)

Thanks for the link, I have issues with the Dsktest I have installed the rom but have to wait a long time to get a reading ?
It makes it hard to do meaningful adjustments !.
If TFM could convert the RPM for me that would be pleasing.
Thank Ray
If it's the same as the disk version then you should just have to leave it running and hit 5 every time you want to retest the RPM. Testing takes a few seconds, but that's to be expected.

Yes its the same as the DSK Version.
I have just contacted the Writer of the R.P.M software - Brice Rive.
And he is having a look at his RPM Program with the possibility of making a rom.
Thanks Ray

Thank you very much. ;D
It works well and quite quick.
What else can i say. ;)
Thanks Ray
Always a pleasure. Tried to put it into the other ROM, but it didn't fit by 1 KB. Well, what can I say. :)
Works fine as well here; FYI, you have to reach 300 RPM on track 19 to have the best settings.

But I like the number 18 more. ;D
Seriously, this ROM got some space left, in case somebody want to put more stuff in let me know. :)

I was primarily interested in checking a 3" drive that won't READ, to confirm that the belt was not slipping.
Thanks Ray

Perfect The drive was running at 329.xx rpm.
Now adjusted to 299.7xx
The Machine is now back in service
Thanks Ray
WoW! You got a little speedstar there ;)
