Hi all
Whilst replacing my 6128's drive belt, the original has long since perished and stuck itself around the large white wheel/pulley. In place its very difficult to clean it off with alcohol, its not coming off with just a cotton bud thing!
So I would like to remove the wheel/pulley, is this possible and if so how?
Nope, not possible. Use Isoproponal to remove the gunk.

Ah thats a shame. lots of work to do then !
thanks
Multiple cotton buds, lots of isopropyl alcohol, black covered fingers later I have removed it all.
Now the problem is remembering where put the new belts!

Ok, technically it is possible, but, it's a (old) nylon wheel pressure fitted to a metal shaft, so there's a very high chance that it cracks while removing it or slips after putting it back on, both of which would really ruin your day. So I would still recommend taking the time to clean it in the assembled position rather than risking having an unrepairable drive. Especially as removing it really doesn't make the cleaning process all that easier.

Hmm.. interesting. Would you mind writing a quick guide on how to do that?
