Title: Sourcing RAM chips
Post by: opticpow on 06:36, 11 November 17
Hi All,

I was just wondering where people usually source their replacement 4164 RAM chips from? Approx $10 per chip and anywhere up to $30 postage to Australia from ebay is a bit steep me thinks.

Cheers,

Wayne

I have found a schematic which can replace the 64K DRAM with a single 128K SRAM where only 64K is used, but can be modified to use the whole 128K.

This is one of the things I intend to do to my 6128 to make it possible to get replacement SRAM in the future, since currently the 4164 DRAM are hard to come by and are quite expensive.

See zip and doc files of what how to make for a replacement 64K/128K RAM scheme.

Cool thanks. This repair is for my 664 which I want to keep original. Might look at it for my 6128 daily driver though.
