@ 00WReX

Thanks for the link.
I have joined the Firmware_v1.rom and the Basic_v1.0.rom together.
and the check sum is the same as the one i already had "F700".
So i will go ahead and burn a (27C256) replacement 40009 for my CPC464.

Thanks  Ray

If you want to try something new, you could always do this: DualOS - CPCWiki (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DualOS) for the 40009 and add the 6128 Firmware and BASIC?

@Bryce (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=225)

Thanks for the link to the Dual OS.
At the moment i am still working on the CPC464 , trying to get it up and running, i still have a stuck A14 which appears to be the centre of the universe for the 464.
it appears to handle most things ??. so i am about to remove the 40009 (destructively) as i don't have the luxury of an evacuated desoldering gun.
I can look at the Dual OS when i get around to the FAULTY 6128 that came with the 464.

It keeping me out of the pub at the moment  ;D .

Thanks   Ray.

The Dual OS trick can be done on the 464 lowerROM/BASIC too, but best to get it running at all first. If you don't own any desoldering equipment, I'd recommend using this method: IC Repair - CPCWiki (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/IC_Repair)

Of course expansions like MegaFlash, LowerROM board and X-MEM can be mentioned here.  :)
