Its 30 years since one of, if not the best games was released on the CPC, a true classic. I think it really needs to be commemorated somehow, does anyone have any plans for it? It really is a special game.

spindizzy &copy activision (1986)

Someone should hack it and make a new set of screens and puzzles for it.

Funny you should bring this up exactly when I'm writing a story about Spindizzy for 8-bit Stories.

Definitely agree that it's one of the best games ever made.

I read somewhere that some people back in the day complained about lack of music though. In my opinion music would have ruined it. As I'm writing in my story, I think the silence with its few sound-effects is a big part of the whole mood.

I still haven't visited 100% of the 385 screens myself yet. Spindizzy is a great game for that special two-in-one experience we can achieve decades later: Nostalgia mixed with something new; visiting screens we never saw before.

The "sequel" "Spindizzy Worlds" on the Amiga was a huge disappointment to me though. It had no where near the same feeling.

So I'd love to see a real "Spindizzy II" exactly like the first one, except with a new set of screens. I.e. we only talking about "hacking" the original game by replacing the map with another one.
(This will still be a huge amount of work and play-testing though. for whoever engages himself in the project).
Do you need music for your Amstrad CPC game project?
Take a look at IndieGameMusic.com - that's where I put my tracks.

music would have appealed to me on this game , but can understand some liking it without in order to focus as it is a game that requires much concentration.. I personally would have liked a bit of a tune going on maybe to add tension or whatever. I do think it is a fantastic game but doesn't set my world alight.

You may have seen this...

Although it's OBVIOUSLY not on CPC but still looks cool as hell I think :)
If it isn't broken - make it better.

Not likeing the fixed Gerald , with the screens moving instead. I'm sure many will love it , not meaning to be down on it.

Actually i see it has both movement styles so,moan retracted
