Preview of the upcoming R-Type remake

Currently the team "Easter Egg" (Fano, TottO, iXien) is working on a remake of R-Type, because the original Amstrad CPC was only a bad Spectrum port. Now they give us a preview, which is presented by Xyphoe, so you can see how R-Type could have looked if they had more time for a real CPC port.

wow and its only a preview looks great :0)


Pros:


* atmospheric music
* cool shooting FX
* Starts off fast with smooth scrolling
* so much colour so FAB
* Sprites are detailed and move smoothly
* playability looks addictive and fun




Cons:

* seems to slow when in 2nd part with the bigger enemies (snake) and end of level boss
* 2nd part blue background hard to make out as other sprites are also blue
* High score all same colour difficult to read






I must say that i'm one of the biggest critics of cpc r-type if ocean had the license to port it over from arcade then we may have seen a different cpc game, im pretty sure we would have.


The easter egg team this is a really impressive preview of your remake of cpc r-type well done lads
