Hi, I tried to fit my M4 card into my CPC4ATX but it doesn't fit. I then had a closer look at the video below, and it appears the M4 card is a bit smaller than mine. A new revision? Can I buy one of these smaller M4 cards?

What are the main differences between revisions?

Hi, not sure if this is an m4 bug or a unidos bug, have you come across seeing the same filename more than once when performing a CAT?

Hello,

I just tried to reproduce the bug, with M4 on a CPC 6128. M4 rom is installed in Rom slot 4.

I tried the 2 scenarios with UNIDOS rom, before (Rom slot 2) and after (Rom slot 6).

Every time everything works, I can't reproduce the bug on a CAT command.

Thanks, I will see if I can find a pattern. I usually use a fastest patch in mode 2, but unless another rom also has one I can't imagine that being the cause.

Is there a good file utility that works with m4 and x-mass so its easy to transfer? One of my folders causes a reset if I try change into it within basic, but symbos doesn't crash.

after further testing without UniDOS, I cannot reproduce it - but I cannot rule it out either - hmm, maybe the UniDOS M4 driver because it doesn't appear to be happening for UniDOS X-MASS - at least not yet, Thanks.

Hi @Duke I love the M4Wifi, haven't been able to use it for a while due to ... well raising a little boy, but he's old enough now that I can start tinkering around again. (And he's now playing with the Amstrad too!)

Since I last used it, I changed our network to a Mesh Wifi, with Tenda nodes.

Now the M4 won't connect, giving "No AP found."

I've done the firmware update this morning to v2.0.7 which was successful (shows "M4 Board v2.0.7" on booting in), and I've re-done the |netset command as I used it exactly before that worked (I actually took a video of me doing it years ago) and as per the guide with the correct Wifi password - but still get the "No AP found" error.

Any idea what I can do?

Heh, it's literally right next the main router and Mesh node - 1ft away from it.

The wifi signal is really strong.

As far as I know, the M4 only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks or the b/g/n type due to the ESP chip, so make sure your router is providing that and not just 5GHz.

That seemed to sort it!

It only sends out one SSID which will be 5GHz, but it is capable of 2.4GHz because I can see in the settings there's addresses for both of them there.

Tenda only provide a rather basic 'app' for your smart phone to manage it, but in the settings there's a "Smart Assistant" where you can it to 'drop' the device to 2.4GHz for 30 minutes to allow older devices to connect to it. So that's what I did. Hopefully this might prove helpful for others who come across this problem in the future.

Hello Duke,

We are several users in France, whose M4 card no longer connects to the Internet... (maybe a problem with the ISP's in France ?)

The M4 card functions normally for everything else, including access to the web interface for management.

But Frontend searches don't work, no date and time synchronization, nor functions like |HTTPGET, etc.

I know that the problem had already been reported to you a few months ago. It was just to know if you had found any leads or solutions since then.

I am aware of two others in France having issues with HTTP (tcp) download on port 80, but NTP (udp) time is working.
To me it looks like HTTP port 80 is blocked, maybe just for MAC of M4 card?
And you have neither HTTP or NTP working, so I am not sure it is same case. Perhaps you need to use DNS servers from ISP (Orange ?)
Do you have DNS servers setup manually?
What I know so far, one ISP is Orange, maybe the other too.
One Router is "Freebox Revolution"
So I have very little to work with, if you can provide more data please do and feel free to mail me directly at duke (a) spinpoint . org

Absolutely no changes for me :
- same ISP since 15 years (mine is SFR).
- M4 card was working for several years before.
- DNS servers were always set manually from Google : DNS 1 ( 8.8.8.8 ) and DNS 2 ( 8.8.4.4 ).

In my case impossible to download (via RulezCharge frontend) and |TIME is not ok (00:00:00 2000-01-01)

[EDIT] Time is working fine now !

I've just change NTP server to pool.ntp.org and all is OK (my previous was a Google NTP server)
