welcome elspuddy.

fixing keyboards: I have problems too with a 464+ and a cpc464. I have had mixed success trying to fix them.

You could try to remove each key one by one and clean the visible part of the membrane, prizing them off with a flat head screwdriver is possible, or perhaps even removing the whole upper plastic part entirely (on +, you can turn the keyboard over, and push each little tab until it comes apart (this is after opening up the computer, and disconnect it from the pcb and lifting it out. Then you have the thin flexible membrane and the keys. Clean the membrane with some tissue, put back together again and hope it fixes it. If the problem persists, then it's possible the membrane is broken.
I think www.tradeinpost.com have some + membranes, but they are costly.
Be careful when re-assembling ;)

to connect a disk drive to a 464 you need the DDI-1 disc interface.

If you want to connect a disk drive to a cpc6128, it is as easy as an old 5.25" drive cable, but not for 464 because this lacks the disc controller.

hi arnoldemu thanks for you replay, i think it's a new membrane for this 6128 plus, i'v just took it apart and found a lot of fluff under the keys and on the membrane, it did fix the problem, but now the 1 key one work and as you power up the computer it bleeps alot like a key is stuck down and if i go in to amstrad basic the 1 key keeps typeing till i hit the del key, btw it did this before i took the keyboard out but was the 1234 keys.

one other thing, i was going to try out a game that was in the drive (dick tracy) i typed in cat to see what was on the disk and it's saying the the disk is missing and is making a lot of wurring noise , dose this sound like the drive belt has gone ?
