Quote from: GUNHED on 20:36, 02 December 23So many thanks for your great continuous work and efforts!  :) :) :)
@Urusergi makes all the work when there are all these things to patch or fix 8) I just convert the little games that are directly 100% joypad ;)

And after that, another one that makes me laugh a lot:

POULE POSITION / CHICKIN CHASE from Firebird

I think the guys behind this game deserve a medal for the French name :laugh: Have a nice end of week-end everyone!

iXien

Ok, we can start the week-end with another nice work from @Urusergi ,

GYROSCOPE from Melbourne House

Controls:
J1B1 = Start game playing with joystick
d-pad = Move your gyroscope
Pause button = Quit game

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
  - Wait for fire to skip title screen
  - Remove controls option text on main screen, replacing it by "PRESS FIRE"
  - Removed the main screen desapearance effect that was endless
  - Pokes : Unlimited time and lives

Gyroscope is clearly what we were hoping until EA delivered us there crap conversion for Marble Madness. The game from Melbourne is imo far more playable with simple but effective GFX in mode 0.

And to keep smilin', exceptionally to end this week-end thanks to @Urusergi :

CROC'MADAM' / JUNGLE JANE from Minipuce - Bug-Byte

Difficulty level
J1UP = Easy
J1RT = Difficult
J1DN = Impossible

Modifications for the GX4000 version
    - Wait for fire to skip title screen
    - Patched keys
    - PLAYER1/JOUEUR1 input in highscore table and J1B1 to skip it

A played so much this one as a child. It's really another era with this Jane searching to survive against the evil savages with their big red lips. Crazy  :P Enjoy the 80's spirit

Another week-end, another patch from @Urusergi to start gently :D :

DREAM WARRIOR from U.S.Gold

Controls:
d-pad = Move the dream warrior
J1B1 = Fire
Pause button = Pause game

Modifications for the GX4000 version :
  - New title screen based on the Spectrum one by iXien, displaying 7 colours in mode 1  8)
  - Wait for fire to skip title screen

Don't you think there is a game that was really missing on GX4000:

COBRA from Loriciels

Controls:
J1B1 = Fire
J1B2 = Grenades
Pause button = Activate/Deactivate Lady to help Cobra

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
  - Wait for fire to skip title screen
  - Added "JOUEUR1" to the highscore table by default
  - Patched keys
  - End sequence bug fixed

So many thanks to @Urusergi for patching this terrible, terrible game, but without which the CPC would not be what it is, and which can now traumatize players also on GX4000  :P

Just a few hours before x-mas, @Urusergi offer you an important fix for :

STORMLORD from Hewson

We discover some days ago that the previous patch was bugged, glitches appearing while playing, making the game finally unplayable. Here is a new patch.

Controls:
J1LT = Go left
J1RT = Go right
J1UP/J1B2 = Jump
J1B1 = Fire (long press to throw daggers)
Pause button = Pause game (J1B1 = Resume game, Pause button = Quit game)

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
  - Wait for fire on title screen,
  - Patched keys,
  - Key redefinition option removed from main menu,
  - Pokes: Unlimited lives and time, invulnerability, stage selection.

And just to offer a version without the CNG Soft logo as for this new patch :

STORMLORD II - DELIVERANCE from Hewson

Here it's the original patch from Phantomz but without the CNG Soft logo 8) .

Merry Christmas to everyone  ;)

Two requests:

1) This one should be easy: You've already ported Trivial Pursuit Genus Edition in English... but it would be cool to have the Spanish version too.

2) A more standard task, but 2 player games are more suited for this console, so... What about porting International Karate?

Yes, I know! Thanks for all your efforts, by the way. The GX4000 is now an interesting console thanks to your ports. But I meant the first International Karate.  ;D

Ok, I didn't understand. The first one, why not 😉 Trivial Pursuit in Spanish, maybe 😋

I join the request for Trivial P. in Spanish :P

cwpab

Yeah, it should be fast considering the Engilsh is already ported. A surprisingly large group of people used to play that Trivial game over here in Spain, from what I've discovered (supported by this last message by shacpc).

About International Karate, some people say it's bad, but others think it's "better than the C64 one" because it's more complex to play... The thing is, I had it as a kid and I don't think I ever played it 2 player. The music was strangely unique to the CPC, as the ZX Spectrum and C64 shared the original and probably better music, more happy and oriental. But our soundtrack had a mysteriously melancholic touch in some parts (not as heavy as in Target: Renegade, where you just want to cry instead of fight, of course).

Another week-end, one game to start it. This time a little one but with its charm:

POGOSTICK OLYMPICS from Firebird

Directly working using a one-button joystick  ;)

Quote from: overange on 12:07, 31 December 23Has Prince of Persia been converted yet?

Prince of Persia would be a great game for the GX4000. Sadly, on CPC the game uses a save system, so it's clearly useless to convert it until a solution can be found (and no, a level selector isn't a good solution ;) ).

Totally forgot it used games saves  :picard:

It could be a Trainer Edition - Cough Cough  ;)

J1RT = Go right
J1UP = Fly up
J1DN = Take off when in space ship
J1B1 = Fire
J1B2 = Pick up object
J2B1 = Music off
J2B2 = Music on
Pause button = Get directional help

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
  - Patched keys
  - Modified text on main screen

I tried to convert Elite via Nocart. It works, but freezes after some time.

Is it possible to create a working version (German and English) that allows saving?

Would be cool to have a working CPR version for the Plus machine:

This one:
ELITE (UK,G) (1986) (VERSION GOLD) (PATCH CPC+)
CPC Power Elite

Another one:

Rick Dangerous 128+

This thread is especially dedicated to GX4000 games and conversions. If the games requires a keyboard and uses saves, it won't be treated here.

That's why Elite never been converted, too much keys to be remapped on joypad and impossible to save on GX4000 ;)

Jup, sorry! You´re right. I think I´ll start a new topic. ;)

iXien

And let's go for a new patch from @Urusergi with this time a very little one, but really lovable, from Jean-Philippe BISCAY, the French développer behind Billy La Banlieue, Mata Hari and many others:

ATOMIC DRIVER from Loriciels

Controls:
d-pad = move car
J1B1 = Fire
Pause button = Pause/unpause

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
    - Patched keys
    - Fixed pause feature broken in the original game.
    - Default name DRIVER in the highscore table (and skipped with fire).
    - Activated a cheat found in the code : Press fire 2 to destroy all enemies.

It's interesting to see that there was a broken pause feature, and a cheat hidden in the code. @Urusergi fixed the bug and activated the cheat. You're free not to use it while playing  ;)

Imagine you control a character that has to collect wine bottles, what a wonderful era is the one in which we grew up! Many thanks to @Urusergi that allows everyone on GX4000 to play:

WILLY WINO'S STAG NIGHT from Silverbird

Controls:
J1B1 = Start game / Jump
J1B2 = Instructions
Pause button = Display high-score table / Pause game

Modifications for the GX4000 version:
  - Wait for fire to skip title screen
  - Removed redefinition control option on main screen
  - Added "PLAYER1" to the highscore table and J1B1 to skip it
  - Patched keys
  - Pokes: Unlimited air and lives

Hello all ,

I just did a conversion from Prospector which was on ZX Spectrum (by Aleisha M. Cuff (Dec 2017-Jul 2018))
This Platformer /shooter game was made with AGDx. With remained colors clashes ^^
Nowadays I managed on Amstrad CPC Old ( DSK / CDT ... )  and I did a CPR file one for GX4000 joypad .
