other than Amstrad CPCs what are you guys into?

Hopefully I won't be overstaying my welcome here if I introduce another topic. What other computers are you guys collecting or playing with , other than Amstrad CPCs? I'll go first, I have a pretty sizable collection of older unix hardware (mostly Sun/SGI) , a few amigas and my faithful old C128

I love the Amiga -- it has some of the same games as the CPC, but with a different feel, and not always for the better. But I hate the much longer loading times on the Amiga.

Consoles: NES, SNES, MegaDrive+32X+SegaCD, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, (original) Xbox. I have no preference, they all provide excellent games!

In the past, I actually got much more (NeoGeo CD, CD32, TurboDuo, Atari ST, C64, an A500...); but I decided to refocus on what I really loved and sold the rest.

I am not really a gamer but yeah if I could go back in time I'd love to live the years when Dreamcast and PSX came out. I had no idea Amiga had slower loading times

I'm here 13 years and lurking longer. If I haven't overstayed my welcome then I doubt anyone can... apart from the guy who's looking for graphics for his demo (remember that guy?)

I dabble with my Spectrum +3 with Gotek fitted as Speccy ports on the CPC are too slow for my taste.
I like Sega and Nintendo stuff from the 80s/90s, so NES, SNES, Master System and Megadrive/Genesis get played a lot.

Playstation 1 and 2 are getting played a lot more too. Although I'm still stuck on the end of the original GTA.

Also playing around with an Atari 7800 (which is 2600 backwards compatible) as well.

I've a bunch of systems here that I've collected in recent years but these are currently my jam (as the kids say today).

I decided about 3 years ago to focus only on the CPC. It's already enough time and money spent on the CPC and having more than a single system 

- Atari STe - was my second computer after the CPC. However I haven't touched it for over a year. I consider selling it.
- Arcade games - I built a Arcade cabinet to have some 1980s vibes every now and then. Basically Arcade games sparked my interest in computers and without them there would not have been the CPC, ST and then the start of my IT career.
- Wii - I love a few of the classic Wiimote games 

I had plenty of systems over the years but that's what's left.

Speccy, C64, Atari 8-bit, Amiga, ST, Gameboy, NES, MegaDrive, SNES...

If it's 8/16-bit and you can even vaguely play about coding with it then I probably do.

I have an Amstrad CPC6128 (colour monitor), a Nintendo DS Lite and a smallish collection of Psion PDAs. That's enough for me. I emulate other machines on the DS Lite and play text adventures on the Psions. They are also useful note taking and writing tools.

I had no idea Amiga had slower loading times

It's not that the Amiga is slower at loading data from a floppy disk -- it just has more data to load.

For example: sampled audio versus chip music, high-resolution graphics versus limited color palettes, and so on.

When launching a game on the Amiga, I always have the feeling to wait and wait and wait.

Of course, this could be avoided by using a faster Amiga etc. but I like keeping the vanilla 68000 CPU inside the computer!

Anything 4, 8 or 16 bit and also retro / vintage test equipment. This week I'm adding a HDMI output to a Philips Videopac G7000. Maybe the first of its kind?

6128, A1230 and PSX filled mine 90s. I can read about others but I don't want to waste my time, space and money on them.

The average time to start a game on CPC + FDD is 14 seconds. And on Amiga with FDD it's over 2 minutes, which is closer to C64 with a tape recorder than to CPC with FDD. The truth is that 16/32bit without HDD is like 8bit without FDD, a snail and no comfort.

I can only think of one: Prince of Persia.

Amiga versions are usually far superior (and feeling different, too) to those on the Amstrad for the same game, clearly there's really no debate about that.

Like many others here, I have a typical computer collection from the 70s and 80s, but that's probably boring and not the point here, since you asked what you are "playing" with.

In addition to the Amstrad CPC, I continue to develop software for the following Z80 computers from the 1980s and early 1990s:

- MSX
- Amstrad PCW
- Enterprise 64/128
- Amstrad NC100/200

and some "modern" Z80 clones and compatible computers called ZX Spectrum Next and Isetta TTL.

This is, of course, due to my Z80 multitasking operating system, SymbOS, which was originally developed for the Amstrad CPC but later ported to these other computers and has now established its own platform-independent Z80 ecosystem for applications and games.

I'm not a big retro gamer and don't use any non-Z80 systems, with the exception of the Atari 8-bit computers, which are my favorite 6502 machines. I love that scene, and I meet people every year.

I've not moved on since the 90s in terms of buying stuff so no modern consoles or PC gaming etc. other than handhelds.  Got to admit my favourite / most played systems are SNES and N64.  I do use a 2DS XL but mostly for SNES emulation!

Development though I stick to Plus/GX because the timescales are realistic for a one-man 'full production', it is seriously underutilised, and has the magic and wonder of being my first computer.
