I don't think I'd say she dominates the box, although I would say it adds to the "Bargain basement Dreamcast shovelware" vibe that the whole thing is kind of giving off. It looks like some random images just clip-art'd onto the side.

That's how I feel about it; it's not a great cover I don't think, just because too many elements have been crammed onto it in a slightly awkward way. The cars on their own would have been plenty. But I'd be happy to see the game released in any box.

If that would be a valid argument, lots of unacceptable pictures would become acceptable. Actually it's the other way around: If the picture is unacceptable if the person is real it's also unacceptable if the person is AI generated.

It's for no apparent reason the only real(istic) part of the box, therefore it sticks out and dominates the box. I think it's at least questionable and could harm not only the perception of the game but also of the community. "White old men" it is anyway - and producing sexist content does not help that.

But in the end it's the decision of the developers if they think this is the right presentation.

If paddock girl in a racing game is unacceptable for you I'm afraid the problem is in you and not in the picture.

I hope of trash all your 80's games with sexy girls in the cover.

I didn't say that this particular picture is unacceptable. The "unacceptable" sentence was more general as a response to the statement that it's an AI picture and no real person. In my opinion it does not matter if such an image which is used for marketing purposes is AI or real. The final picture needs to be judged on its content, not on the fact if it's real or not. It was meant in general: Think of a picture you personally think is unacceptable. Would that change if the picture was done by AI?

Acceptable or not I think it's unnecessary sexist if done in the way it has been presented. I recognize that this is not the common understanding here and people on this forum appreciate that type of pictures, so be it. But I'm buffled that the comments continue and trigger people to a level of sarcasm I would not have expected. 

Regarding the games: I don't own any such game with such a cover. And even if, I would see it as "part of the era" which I would never judge from my opinion today. Similar to movies that have been produced e.g. in the 50s or even 80s. If done today they would be unacceptable. But back then, they were totally fine and can be seen as productions of their era. Same with games. I don't care that Macadam Bumper has a half naked girl on the side - but I would think it's weird to do it in a fresh production. And again... not to a level that I think it's unacceptable. Just unnecessary.

Nah, the derogatory term "old white men" does exist in English. In fact, it was first coined in English and became prominent in 90s America.
