Is it my idea or the Amstrad sub-categories, yielding Amstrad-specific RSS feeds, were dropped and the Amstrad results incorporated to the general vintage computing area? How on earth am I supposed to keep track of all the auctions now, search for "Amstrad" and hope for the best?

Bryce

A few days ago ebay seem to have put all the vintage stuff in a box and shook it as hard as they could! The section is now completely messed up and finding anything is almost impossible, without trawling through pages of stuff you don't want to see.
Atari section is one of the worst, it used to have an XL/XE section, but now that's broken up into each individual 400/800/600XL etc.

Having a section for each model actually sounds superb. But there appears to be no Amstrad category at all!!!

Yeah, just checked again; there's this which is not a category but rather a filtered search, and it doesn't have an RSS feed... maybe this happens with the Atari models as well?

Answer: yes.

Bryce

Yes, that's exactly the same as what happened to Atari. I meant filtered search, not sub-category. They've all been thrown into the one bucket. Strangely though, a search in the German ebay now shows all the UK items of the same category, so I assume the changes were made so that each national ebay has identical corresponding categories.

Well, as I saw right now you can do a search for "Amstrad" or "Atari XL" or "Commodore" (what?), then save that search; the resulting search setup has an RSS feed associated to it... so you can customise it as much as you want. Hope that helps!

I have individual searches for "CPC 464", "CPC 664", "CPC 6128" and "GX 4000". Seems to catch everything I'm interested in, although i do get 3 emails per day rather than one.

Gryzor

Yeah, seems to be working now - it definitely did not work when they change the categories system.  I prefer to pull the RSS feeds though, instead of getting email after email...

Gryzor

Hm, though it works on ebay.co.uk, I can't find anything on ebay.fr... Any ideas? Haven't tried .de yet.
