It definitely wasn't a failure. The HD6845 was a huge success Luckily.

Not what I meant! What I meant was, they designed this little thing that was good at nothing but producing "meh" responses and tried to spruce it up with marketing talk because obviously they didn't know what it was good for.


Further down the road, well, lots of mediocre products have succeeded...
