How many of that 799 never even look at the site now, maybe it is time to start weeding out those who are no longer interested in the CPC or this site.
Let's see if we have even 300 active members.

I could delete inactive accounts, or zero-post accounts, but why do it?

Because you have the force ;)

We might start to think there are hundreds of us when in reality there are only about 20.
How about a little blackmail, donate or else!

Bryce

We've currently about 170 regular posters. The rest are either zero posters (possibly only visited once), people who only rarely visit and people who have left the scene completely.

Bryce.

On a daily basis I'll quickly see what's happening on the Wiki, don't always log in though, or post... sometimes I'm notified about things via email.

Am I to be deleted?

Gryzor

Haha no :D

If this was a site with countless thousands of accounts then it'd be worth cleaning up, if nothing else to keep the db clean. But I don't see the point in deleting innactive accounts as it is...

Maybe send a reminder to all those non-users?

Well, there are people who remain silent for years - and suddenly they post! Guess most of them take a look at the forum more often thought.

You may send an email to remember that cpcwiki and is gorgeous database exist.
The new forum features that allow to chat with peoples and play online games and demo.
I think that you have to create some chat rooms with the same name as the forums entries too (games, hardware, ...)

I don't think we want the chatroom to replace the forum.

Yes. I was wrong.

Or to make space? Your Laptop is a constant which could be represented as a 3D Array.  ;D

Normally the reality with people is they forget their Username/Password, and have to setup another account or forgot they had an account which was setup years ago. I guess I could make an exception if the account name was Stephen Hawking and it had zero posts beside it.  ;D

Stephen Hawkings would just claim that all previous posts he'd made contained errors and should be ignored :)

Bryce.

(I prefer over-writing the files on my HD with 1s, they take up less space when you stack them on their side) :)

Increase Amstrad visibility at the retro events and you'll see numbers of active users increase. I'm willing to do my bit for the UK Amstrad scene provided you fellas lend your support.

BluesBrothers

It's a funny thing actually... On the whole I've always been very wary of forums and until now have kept my own participation to a minimum. The reason for this is that some of the sites out there have more of a chat room or facebook mentality and fights seem to breakout out all to regularly and people can be very rude in general (I'm not going to mention any names).

Here however I feel quite comfortable here on the CPC Wiki and I can honestly say this is the most warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful site I have had any involvement in. I'm sure good management plays it's part but does the more "compact" user base help to make this possible?

Just thoughts and observations for you to ponder
