is there a way to store cpc game music onto a storage device eg your PC /  usb memory stick / smartphone and be able to listen to it ?

has anyone done such a thing ?

i was playing wec le mans the other day comparing the game engine to super hang on and the music just brought back all those wonderful memories from yesteryear.....

anyway to record the music from cpc games so you can listen to your fav cpc game tunes whenever you want to without loading a game up ??

Yes. Common way is to use an emulator to record a YM file.
Then use STSound or another similar YM player to play it back.
This method doesn't work well for any music with sampled sound (e.g. Prehistorik 2 on Plus), or any SID type sound because it records the information once per frame.
Quite a few popular emulators have this recording feature.
Some also allow you to record the sound as wav which you can then convert say to mp3 and play back.

Another question is, is there a tool to batch-convert YM files to mp3/wav?

Slightly late to the party, so sorry about that! ^_^
However, AYEmul will happily batch-convert Speccy, Amstrad or AtariST YM files to WAV.
