Title: Best way to exchange data with 9512
Post by: vagant on 07:27, 11 May 25
Hi,

I am a happy owner of 9512 with 3" floppy and all is great but what's the easiest way to exchange data? I have NC100, NC200 and this is easy using serial cable etc.

- gotek - most ready or documented solutions are for 8256/8512. Is there 100% bullet proof way to hook gotek to 9512? Is there a place I could buy it?

- hooking up 3" to PC - I found description and understand I need to modify a cable, swap power and with additional software this should work?

- uIDE - that would be great but can't find any

- LocoLink - while there is software on eBay I can't find any physical cables

- wifi solution - this is also dedicated to 8 series

Is there anything else?
What are you using?

Cheers
M

Why not get a USB RS232 cable and use serial from the PC?

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you had a PCW serial interface.
I believe it is possible to add a gotek as a second drive on the PCW 9512, but I cannot confirm.

Connecting a Gotek work in the same way for all PcW. Just care about the right orientation of the flat cable. :)

If you have no B-Drive: Use the HxC or Gotek :-)

So I can simply swap gotek with no issue and exactly the same cables/connections between 8512 and 9512?

Yes, I would say so. But consider 3" plugs and 3.5" plugs are different. Use a manual for 3" drives please.
