Title: PCW 9512 Gotek Games issue
Post by: P5ychoFox on 20:45, 02 December 20
I have a Gotek in my 9512 (jumper on MO: the only way it'll work) and it boots into CP/M and can load 9512 software such as Locoscript 4 and  2in1 just fine. The issue is that I wanted to play some games on it and while it won't run 8256 180k games it should run the side B of Spanish Opera Soft games as these were designed to boot on a 9512. I have a selection of these 9512 compatible .dsk images and they all boot fine in CP/M Box emulator (in 9512 mode) just as they would on a real 9512. However none will boot on a real 9512 via a Gotek and I'm not sure why. It could be something to do with the way having the jumper on MO makes the computer think 2 drives are present but I'm not sure. Can anyone suggest a way to get these 9512 compatible game images loading?

EDIT: This may be the issue: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/issues/318

Although I don't know how to go about solving it. Is it a Gotek firmware issue?

All sorted, as suspected the issue was the double stepping. I've got 8256 games running on a 9512 via a Gotek now  :D
