Title: PCW with TV modulator A520?
Post by: sucram on 16:15, 25 February 17
Hello!

I know that the video output from the PCW should not direct connect with Scart...
Perhaps it is a stupid idea, but is it possible to use a Commodore Amiga TV modulator A520 with the PCW?

At retroisle I found this circuit diagram:

Best regards,

You just need to buffer the video signal to don't heat the ASIC

Then plug to an Scart composite video signal  (Or G from RGB) and you are done. The A520 is too much hardware for just buffering a signal...

You need the same buffering if you want to extract the video data from the expansion port.

Wich pins I have to use, if I want to extract the video signal from the expansion port?

You can build this simple schematic designed by JonB
On this thread: http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?55909-Amstrad-Schneider-PCW-IDE-drivers-an-interface/page2

I have done it and work very nice.
