Title: Re: Slideshow on a PCW

Oli,

I have now determined that if I replace the J15ACPM3 file with J17HCPM3 your process works as normal, AND, this version of the system does support .FID files and therefore the uIDE drives are available.

That's something.

So maybe there's nothing 'special' about the J15ACPM3 file?  Other than - where is it from?

The J17H file is in fact 1.07 historically (the J15 file you used is really 1.05) so these two files are pretty close historically.   As you may be aware, Amstrad/Locomotive got themselves in a bit of a mess with the version numbers and they never really planned for the x.xx numbers so when they got to 1.10 etc they struggled and some things got 'fudged'.

Next step, to modify your .SUB files to remove the copying to M: and access all the files from a uIDE drive (as fast as M:).

Right, all working OK now.   No need to copy anything to M:, it's all on D11: (or whereever) and loads just like it was on M:.

Just - not a lot of point looking at a pic of the PCW on the ACTUAL PCW!!

Still, neat!

Thanks.
