Title: Roswell for PCW
Post by: FloppySoftware on 18:45, 06 May 15
Hello!
I just uploaded to my website Roswell, a game for the Amstrad PCW, that uses my GUI Samaruc (but I don't know why!).  :)
Warning: It's not intended to be the best game for the Amstrad PCW!  8) 8)
It's a preview edition, because I don't have time (and skills?) to design more levels for it.  ;D
But hey...! It's here, at last!

Very cool, I already liked the preview in 2013 a lot!

IMHO this game has quite a nice feeling on the PCW. I am impressed, that you finished it now. Are you going to make another video of the final version?

Looks very cute :)

By the way, I love that PCW font... Is that available anywhere in a modern format? I'd like to maybe use it as a terminal font!

Hey! Finally Roswell has seen the light of day! Congratulations.

A bit short, but really nice. I especially liked the graphics: if I ever make a killer robot, it will be like the ones of this game.  :P

It's the Samaruc font, it's not the PCW standard one.
I designed this font with a Basic program written by me, too many years ago.
But I can send to you the 2048 bytes file if you like it!  8)

Ah, please do! Although I don't know what I could do with it - maybe if someone told me how to load it in a PCW emulator so I can grab a screen in order to pass it onto Fontmaker or something... It's really lovely!!!

Any chance I could have it too? I'd love to convert it to an CPC font for use in my cart menus.

Good idea. It's a very good font for front-ends...

Ok!
Here are two files.
One is a png image file, and the other one is a raw 2048 bytes binary file.  :)
If you need some other type of file, please, ask me and I will see what I can do.  ;)
For personal use only, please - not commercial use!  :P

PD: In the image, there are two vertical pixels for one on the PCW screen. You can resize the image to the 1/2 current height, to obtain a 1:1 pixel.
