Interesting that some people report
problems with the Willi-part (with the sample)
One had no sound in WinApe and one no Picture
on Gx4000. I've never had any issue like this and
developed it using WinApe and real HW and it
was tested on 3 6128+ and at evoke it was recorded
using my gx4000 using a eprom-cartridge.
So i am curious about reports where it does
not run correct.Please report problems to me
and perhaps i can fix something.
It is very interesting that specially this part
has a promlem because besides using the
Dma to play the sample it does not that many things.
Some people mentioned the demo not to be too techie. That is absolutely ok for me :) . But for me it was very techie to do all these (plus) things for the first time. Still learning ;) :
- Build a cartridge
- Start-up the cartridge on a real machine (because my last fixed bug was: it ran on C4CPC but not on EPROM, one out was missing)
- Play music between part-change and depacking
- HW-Sprite multiplexing and more than 40 colours on the screen (Beer bottle)
- Multiple smooth horizontal scrolls per screen (Wobble in Bottle-Part and Beer-Sea part)
- Smooth vertical scroll.
- Sprite-Hiding (like when the sprites disappear behind the bottle), Sprite splitting (outtro scroller).
- Converting and playing the sid effect tao music and doing the scroller, the picture copying and the hw-sprites all at once.
- Playing a hughe 16khz sample
- And everything I forgot

COuld you share the details. Ideally the c4cpc should be transparent, unless I forgot something ;)

Hi gerald: I think you cannot blame your fantastic c4cpc for this. I did not examine this any further but to prevent others stepping into the same trap and to show you, what I found out, I started another thread about this:http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/programming/tip-on-setting-up-a-plus-cartridge
I think the "problem" is, that the C4CPC does something (initialising, executing some code to) with the CPC prior to the start of the cart. The plus is not "virgin" after that. Why it ran in emulator, I do not know.
I enjoyed this demo ! The moment with "the guy moving hands" is really well done. Congratulations!
Also: if I'm not mistaken, this is the first German demo in years, right ?

It was a really great experience to watch something you've done, on such a big screen and with a crowd of approximately 500 People.
