Title: Hello From Istanbul
Post by: DoctorCPC on 23:00, 05 June 21
When I was 3 years old, the first computer I used was amstrad pcw 8256. At the age of 4, I got a cpc 464. I am a CPC lover since then. I live in Istanbul. but there are very few amstrad cpc fans in turkey. commodore and amiga are very common here. former amstrad cpc owners have already abandoned these computers. the rest are not active at all and are not interested in anything. If you have any whatsapp group, I would appreciate if you add me. i am so lonely in istanbul as amstrad cpc fan. I tried to do some things but it was not successful because it was local. only reason is no amstrad cpc fan. If you have whatsapp or other channels that you constantly chat with, I would be very happy if you invite me.

Welcome in the forum!
I live in Crete, Greece, and also is feels lonely to deal with the cpc here. People deal with Amstrad may be few in percentage, but there are forums such as this one, and also some other forums or facebook groups, where you can share your passion and your programs/games, if you manage to make something. Good luck!

Merhaba! There was at least one guy from Turkey around on the Wiki. But I don't remember his name and don't know where he is located. Maybe @Gryzor (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1) will know...

Greetings Toto:
yes Toto, I was following even before I became a member. i will never stop using amstrad cpc. By the way, I'm a computer engineer. My area of expertise is software development and technical sales. In fact, my hobby has become my profession. I decided to become a computer engineer when I was a kid with the amstrad cpc 464. I published 3 magazines in Turkish about retro computers. I also wrote articles about amstrad cpc. I am very motivated right now. I started to think about an annual magazine about amstrad cpc. or I'm thinking of making a magazine that comes out once in 6 months.
magazine name is BitSector

Greetings skylas:

I installed a 3'5" floppy drive years ago before gotek was even discovered. Dimitrios from Greece helped me a lot. I think I was the first person to install a 3'5'' floppy drive in amstrad cpc in turkey. maybe you know the name Dimitrios G. Karalis. Thanks to him, I was back at Amstrad CPC after a long time. The distance between Greece and Turkey is very close. If you want to come to Istanbul, I would like you to be my guest.

Greeting Villain:
I know 10 people related to amstrad cpc. but most of them are not active. It's hardly even active. they don't do anything new and they don't hold meetings. they don't follow new hardware. they just used it on time.

Welcome and it's always good to see people coming back to the CPC :-) I just returned 1.5 years ago after almost exactly 30 years of absence and now I am solely focusing on the CPC and even abandoned my love for the Atari STE and Falcon.

You can also check out the many Facebook groups. Just make sure to select those with members AND activity. Thanks to the translate function it's even possible to read what's going on in France or Spain with their huge communities, even if you are not familiar with that language.

To be honest, I was always active. but unfortunately only in Turkey. I was always reading cpcwiki and following other cpc websites. but in my home country there are very few people to chat about amstrad cpc. So I'm with you with my terrible English. I've also used great hardware from Toto and Duke before. If we do an event in Istanbul, will anyone come?
