Hello to all !!!
I'm proud to present you the new CPC POWER CONTEST !!!
http://www.cpc-power.com/cpcdemos/index.php?page=compo (http://www.cpc-power.com/cpcdemos/index.php?page=compo)
There is contest for GFX; Music and coding.
I hope you will make some great stuff to win all contest !!!
Thank to say when you want to make something ;)
Good luck ;)
This is good idea.
A thing on your side to do would be to open yourself to the world by using English language instead of French one. But perhaps there is already an existing option for it?
By clicking on the flag on the top, you will be in english language ;)
Small flag indeed, but I found it after some time 8)
However, it's a pity to shrink this compo to unexpanded CPCs, without any expansions. I mean this is a bit like a 1K compo on cpc464 with tape only. :(
I understand your opinion, but the idea of somethink that only 3 people can see is not a good think for me and some people.
So 128Ko RAM with no extension is the right thing ;)

I appreciate your oppinion, but Prodatron will probably not agree with you, that only three of the SF-2 has been sold  (ignoring any kind of other expansion being sold).
I personnally enjoy Ghost's proposal. Using extensions is marginal.

Only for people who don't use them. But if you ever get used to software in ROM and expanded RAM, then you don't want to miss them again. ;D
Hey, nice compo. Sometimes small compos are good for little CPC releases. I will have it in mind. I am already thinking what effects I could do.
I think that choosing these specs are a good choice because everyone can enjoy the productions using their machines. Nonetheless, there could be contests for extensions like for example a digiblaster music one.
I would love to enter a demo compo (have an effect in mind) but 1 month is nowhere near long enough for me to write something as I have a tonne of RL work and am also collaborating on another project already. :(

Hehehe! Ok, let me tell you how it works... first you create the perfect gfx, music, demo etc. and then you wait.... learn patience.... wait.... and if finally somebody starts a compo (usually once a year), THEN you release your prod ;) Or do you really think that they all did it in three weekends? ;) (if someone has no job, then maybe yes).
When it seems like nobody else wants your programs because their too large or there's timely restrictions or simply a bunch of ridiculous rules which guarantee your programs won't even make it onto their website, start your own website! ;D
Have a look at my website (in the spoiler below), it's setup on a Free Web provider, uses the bare fundumentals of HTML code which makes it easy to add programs as you go along, if anyone wants to I don't mind - at best the code is public domain! ;D
Having your own Website means you come up with the terms and conditions and can add stuff whenever you want, though it helps to start off with a few programs and add programs regularly so people know your still around updating it! ;D
The contest is now 2 month long ;) So you got time, use it !!!
I won the last music contest I entered. :)
...but I was also the only one who submitted any tracks. ::)
I don't want to "waste" another track like that, when it could have been used in a production instead. So I'll wait and see if anyone else submits anything.
If I do something, I don't think it will be a full blown demo. I think a single effect in 1-2k would do it. Or maybe a single demo screen. The contest is called coding contest and not demo contest, so a full blown demo is optional for me. So, there is enough time for something like that.
About expansions, yes I don't care about them, it's a regular CPC compo afterall. But a compo where you would required to use CPC expansions in any way you think would be interesting. I stare with awe at the 576kb Winape32 starts and I always think I could try one day to use them. I don't have a real memory expansion so for me it would be coding experiment in an emulator. I am wondering what things could be done with these.
You're right, this is a coding compo, not a demo compo ;) So you can make something like demo ; game or other. You can also make a multi compo like a demo in "light" theme with new music in "HArd & heavy" theme... So you can be more than 1 person: Coder+gfx+musician to make one projet

If you submit a track for the compo this doesn´t mean - at least in my blue eyes - that you can not use it later in another production. So it wouldn´t be wasted.

Heya mate, if you got a nice banner I can use I will put it in the wiki's main page to promote the compo... lemme know!
So, the themes :
Graphx : SuperHeroes...
You can be on PLUS or OLD and the thing must run on a real machine and include a loader...
This mean you can use Rasters, Multimodes, perhaps even flippings (ouch the eyes...) and HardSprites "patches" (on Plus).
LOGO : a CPC DEMOS (the site ?) new LOGO (banner) is up to you to do...
But to be fair I think they should be more precise concerning the specifications they want...
I will try to give a try in GraphX...
I I'm doing some trials.
But superheroes ???
Don't know if I give into PinUp hotties Sup'sluts... or something more fun... or both...
But I will certainly need someone to code me the stuff...
As I'd like to include a few rasters or Multimodes or Hardsprites... well, still don't even know if I do something on PLUS or CPC... :'(
Would be great to have some "non-French" participating ... who would try something ?
I pinned the topic while we're at it...

I am definitely entering something. You will probably still win, but at least it wont be by default this time!
Can I enter more than one track?
Hi guys, just to tell you that the contest is soon closing, please send some participations and stuffs...
Well, I thought the music submitted by Egotrip is superb:

Great to have a new musician on the CPC who is so good :)

Nice tunes, thanks for sharing!
Pretty good tunes, specially the third one with the rythm changes and the "dubstep" breaks ;D
Maybe you can remove this thread now?
(just unpick it from top list)
Yup, got to do some clean-up...
