Hi everyone, just stumbled across this forum while hunting out stuff on Amstrads (I've decided to try and obtain a 6128 to rekindle fond memories).
Thought I'd register and stick around, as I've had a browse and I'm amazed at the wealth of stuff on here. I shouldn't be suprised really!
If anyone has any ideas where to get one other than Fleabay (got a few being watched but they're so often collection only), please let me know.
Cheers,
Dabooka ;D
Welcome in the CPC Wiki! Hope you will get what you need. :)
Welcome aboard, and good luck in your quest for the 6128.
Cheers chaps, the nostalgia keeps washing across me in waves, but the emulators just don't cut it!
Nothing like the real thing...!
Unfortunately Amstrad stuff isn't as common as other platforms, so eBay is often your best bet. Try ebay.fr and ebay.de too though as there can be some good stuff on there.
Welcome. And you're right, nothing can replace using the real hardware. As you are in England, you should try browsing the local adverts and maybe even flea markets too. You can also take a look here: http://www.tradeinpost.com/ (http://www.tradeinpost.com/) . He has some CPCs occasionally, but they're not exactly cheap.
Bryce.
welcome to the forum and wiki!
Welcome!
Yeah, nothing beats the real thing. :)

Welcome mate! With all the developments, both in software and hardware, that have been going on for the past few years, I'd suggest doing some saving. Get an HxC floppy emulator after you get your CPC, you'll be amazed :)
That said, eBay is probably your best option indeed, as other shops usually fleece you all the more. Do bear in mind that on eBay.de you'll find Schneiders (the connectors at the back are different) and on eBay.fr you'll be getting AZERTY keyboards instead of QWERTY.
Do let us know when you manage to get one - and have fun!
Well thanks for the welcome guys, greatly appreciated :)
The HxC floppy looks like an awesome development as does the RGB scart and S-vid outputs. I can get away with either, so already trying to decide which is better / easier. Assuming my eBay searches pull out a result that is!
Well, if you already have some disks and would like to play them on the big screen go for a video output solution (though you'd have to know how to build them...). If you want to start playing all them games right away go for the HxC :)
If you live near london, try with this.
