...or for anyone who likes mashups, detests Eurovision and loves AC/DC. A lovely combo of Greece's entry in early nineties with Vossou (actually a quite nice song, but let's leave it at that), AC/DC (love Thunderstruck!) and Thundercats. The original song by Vossou said "It'll be like spring is coming" or something, in Greek "thanai san na mpainei h aniksi", and "thanai" sounds of course like "thunder".
Enjoy!

What is this I don't even....
A bit cheesy indeed... yummy.
Because you know, here in France we stayed at Nana Mouskoury and Demis Roussos
:(
strange to have the original version...

Sophia Vossou - Pare me - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbmaGkbIq3E)
what a cougar, even before the term was popularized...
the vocals could really fit some "female voiced modern metal"...
Within Temptation - The Promise (live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNKdTHFfNKQ#)
She went a bit heavy on the eye liner...
Wait, I thought Lordi made the Eurovision cool again, no?
saddly it sucks again... :P

Gotta take your word for that. Although I did see Lordi live last year. Great show live. :)
totally something else, but it's for Mac Death too (sure he already know that project)

it was a scandal in France the year Lordy won.
the french TV hosts got badmouthing against Lordy, talking during their song (they believed it was a sport event) and telling "even my dog doesn't like it".
When Lordy won, they bitched a lot, we couldn't even listen to the freaking awesome song.
And all metalhead from France (me too) spammed the TV channel's forum, we were all asking for the TV host's balls on a pique.
The year after, it was more respectful and more professionally hosted.
Fucking Michel Drücker... this fucker is an institution in France TV... hate him.

shit was so cash, for once... best Eurovision ever...
and those fucking french comments when Lordy won (for those able to speak the most noblestest language above all)...

Sprite Lamp | Snake Hill Games (http://snakehillgames.com/spritelamp/)nope, didn't know about it... nice.
So you need to multiply by 4 your Pixel art sprites and tiles so you can implement dynamic lighting... why not.
Not usable with real CPC... lol.
I'll be honest. I thought Lordi were cheese on toast bollocks when I heard the Eurovision in 2006. But after seeing them (and being one of the photographers at the show) live, I gained a whole new found respect for them. The songs are cheesy, but the live performance and showmanship is hard to beat.
Mr. Lordi is indeed a legend :)
Massive AC/DC fan here so respect, though I did prefer the Bonny Scott on vocals
Started watching the mashup think urmm not sure but by the end loved it
Well, it was meant as a joke. Especially with that jerk at the bass, he's a well-known @rsehole here in Greece.
Well, here's another funny one by the same guys:
Δε Φάιναλ Στοίχημα (The Final Stihima, Μαντώ & Europe) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TPRoOLOxC0#ws)
The basketball stuff is because back in 1987, when Greece won the Eurobasket, this song damn nearly replaced out national anthem, playing through each every game on TV. The betting stuff is a reference to the greek song's lyrics. Manto wasn't half-bad in Eurovision ;)

Well she's obviously a big basketball fan. She even had the basket converted to a dress (and managed to get two into it aswell :D )

Perceptive :D

Why? It's not like she's going to take the microphone back to her hotel and show it a good time??

I wonder what happens if you pull the thread ...

I think many of us wished it would break during the performance, like with Maria Whittaker during the photo shoot...

(in a Barry White bass voice) Oh Yeah! :)
@MacDeath: Now we can see where that wish is coming from. :D
But just imagine you'd be this thight piece of leather around her body. For the duration of her stage performances you'd be rubbing with her sweaty skin. And if you're lucky, she might just sit on you after taking you off. (Gives a delicate new meaning to the term sit on my face. :>)
You guys need to get out more often :D
Bryce.
guys, it is fun to learn about other countries peoples fantasy but, well, to be the mic mostly give a better view you kow ?
Anyway.
In france our eurovision participation always sucks despite we actually want to win it.

?? What!!?? France actually wanted to WIN with those songs? I thought they were trying to make some sort of Anti-Eurovision protest by spoiling their entry. :D
Well, as a flat piece of leather "sitting on one's face" is a hundred times more practical than in real life. Besides I was thinking about the Monty Python song of the same name while writing the comment. ;)
@Bryce: Aren't you thinking of Austria? Because I firmly believe we are doing just that. :D
The last memorable song of France in a song contest was Amina with Le dernier qui a parlè in '91. I can't remember any other since then (but then I hardly listen to it since then either.)
Well there's a few countries that regularly seemed to be contending for last place. Back before the Eurovision became a political brown-nosing exercise for certain eastern nations, countries like Norway and Malta used to battle it out with Austria and Belgium for the bottom place. Since the "competition" was extended, the results are only partially related to the quality of the song. When it got to the stage that certain countries (usually with a terrible song) got zero points from every other country, but their brown-nosing neighbours gave them 12 points, I decided it was time to stop watching. I'm sure I wasn't the only one.
Bryce.
I don't even wanna know why you know so much about Eurovision :D
Well, Gryzor, some of his complaints are well-known.
For example, once the audience was able to vote via SMS (I think) the voting reflected the migration patterns of Europa, e.g. Germany's votes favoured Turkey, Austria's went mostly to Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. We skipped the song section entirely and started predicting the votings by guessing (or knowing for a fact) the countries' biggest immigration workforce. This worked remarkably well for most countries.
I don't know if they still do audience voting, but this was mostly the only interesting thing of the contest in recent years. Out of all the songs, only one or two at most are worth listening to per year, and they usually don't win first place.
Oh the joy when Lordi won! :D *in your face, suckers!* But then, even their song was very - let's say - traditional. I would not have taken notice of it under normal circumstances.
still metalheads from every nations voted for Lordi...
Metalheads united.
