Title: Weekly demo
Post by: Devilmarkus on 10:52, 13 September 09
Hi together,
As you have noticed, I added a "Weekly demo" page to the toplist.
Please post your favourite CPC demos here so that I can change it weekly.

Only thing:
- The demo must run in JavaCPC / WebCPC (CPC old generation demos only)

It can have more than 1 DSK so I can also post megademos, too.

Cheers,
Markus

Maybe.
But also JavaCPC has Prodatron's Digitracker included. Also the tools for it to convert Amiga-MOD files into CPC-MDL files. This should work for Protracker files up to ~100k.
(Menu: Extras ->) There you will find it.

For some reason, the applet doesn't start for me today!

Could you copy the java console's output, so that I can see what happens?

In "weekly demo" the applet opens in a seperate JFrame.

I think maybe I just didn't wait long enough for the applet to launch before.

No - I had the same. I loaded some pages with emu 'attachments' and they didn't load. I had to refresh some minutes afterwards to get them loaded, maybe the server had a hickup!

Indeed, the applet sometimes does not start properly.
I don't know, why this happens.
Simply refresh the page then.

this weeks demo:

Improvized Meeting Halloween Contest 2004 from Revival!

Watch it here (http://cpc-live.com/topsites/index.php?a=page&id=dotw)

Tip:
When you opened 1 part, you cannot return to the demo's menu.
- Reset the emulator (Button "reset" or "F12")
- press: ALT & END (END = small enter key in WebCPC)
- The disk boots automatically.

Happy Halloween!

Niiiice option!

The menu tune is really sweet, and it sounds great in the emu as well... I couldn't bring myself to skip the menu! :D

As on your real CPC you have to use the number-pad keys to choose the single parts.

No man, I meant I wanted to listen to the intro tune over and over again! :D

Oh ok... :D

I recorded the menu-music as YM file.
Here it is.
You can listen to it using JavaCPC or another YM player like AY_Emul etc...

Ahhh thanks for that... any chance for an mp3/wav? I don't have the dsk...

JavaCPC has got a WAV recorder.
You can playback the YM file with it and simulteanously you can record the AY chip as WAV.

I knew it had a wav recorder, but I didn't remember it can play back YM files by themselves!!

I'm always pleasantly surprised by this emu, mate...

Btw, it'd be handier if the player started in Paused mode, maybe... and what does the "rec" button do? I press it and nothing happens? I'm using the AudioCapture utility anyways...

- Player starts in paused mode when you open a file with it (Open-button)
- Recorder is in pause, when AY chip is not active at beginning. (flashing red)
- Recorder should start recording when sound output is given. (flashing green)

(Who wants to help me to write a guide for JavaCPC and it's whole features?)

I think a guide would be obsolete by the next version :D
