Title: Adapting old Atari standard joystick(Konix Speedking) to run on U.S.B.- P.C.
Post by: Puresox on 00:10, 27 March 13
Any advice on how I could adapt a Konix Speedking Joystick to U.S.B. connector? I have a competition Pro joystick which has USB connector which I intend to be the donor. Is this possible to be done without to much bother ? Or is there some kind of adapter on the market which would do the job for me?

Retrobit have been making Atari DB9 to USB adapter cables for a while now

have a look at this
New Dual Port PC Computer USB Port Controller Adapter for ATARI 2600 JOYSTICK | (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Dual-Port-PC-Computer-USB-Port-Controller-Adapter-for-ATARI-2600-JOYSTICK-/300704624696?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item4603647038)

here's a couple of websites with modification instructions
Connecting Atari VCS 2600 style joysticks to USB (http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/documents/projects/other/usb-joystick.html)
Atari Joystick USB Conversion | Isotopia (http://xenon.arcticus.com/atari-joystick-usb-conversion)

good luck!  :)

Please move to other retro / PC stuff. IMHO it's not CPC related, right?
