Hi Guys,
Whilst trawling though my stack of spare* Plus monitors (which I don't use because they are all MM12's right) I noticed that one of them was actually a CM14.
As I have 2 pluses with cm14 screen set up right now I don't need 3rd plus on the desk, but this got me thinking the CM14 would make a nice display for my Amiga A600. Given how hard it seems to be to get a Plus RGB to play nice with Scart I am not about to chop up my spare Amiga SCART cable on the off chance that I can get it working on the CM14.
So is anyone generous enough to make me a Amiga RGB - CM14 cable that I can use. it need only be really short and I can provide cables or connectors if needed. I would obvious pay for the cable but my skills in such things normally lead to horrendously melted sockets and connectors in the trash!
Many thanks
Craig.
* IG anyone wants a fully working mm12 I have 3 or 4 of them. I cannot throw out working hardware.
As your Megadrive thingy is on its way to me anyway and I have to send it back too, I'll make up the cable for you and throw it into the parcel going back.
Bryce.
Brilliant, thanks Bryce. The Amiga will be so much more retro on a cm14 ????
Edit: Can you make it as short as possible? Since the cm14 already has quite long spiral cables.

The Amiga works awesomely with an Amstrad monitor :) I made that cable looong looong ago to connect my Amiga 500 to it and it was fantastic :D

It needs one of those crap 23way Sub-D connectors doesn't it? I know I have two of them here somewhere, the question is just... Where?
Bryce.
My amiga 500 looks great on my plus monitor apart from the image being shifted to the left :(
I've been wanting to get an Amiga for a while now but haven't due to lack of space for another crt monitor.
Good to know that I can use my plus monitor :)
Will an Amiga 1200 work on it?

I've given up using my USA snes now because of this problem. I'm fed up having to adjust the picture settings on the TV every time I use it.
Does the image return to normal when you plug your amstrad back in?

Common effect with the Amiga.

Does this mean you make cables now?
No, I still don't make cables unless it's part of something bigger that I am working on. There are enough people here and on ebay that supply cables :) Didn't I supply a cable to you when I did some mod for you?
Bryce.

So... can I send you my broken CPC6128 for you to fix, and then get a cable back too? :D

Yeah. It goes back to normal.

Yes :D
Bryce.
So can I break something purely to send it to you to get fixed and get a cable?

If you really want, but I wouldn't recommend it.[nb]If you do decide to this, telling me what you broke will speed up the repair time :D[/nb]
Bryce.
You can always send something 'broken' that will get 'miraculously' 'fixed' in transit.
...then again I'm sure Bryce will be able to find something wrong with it anyhow :D
I break enough things "repairing" them. I don't need to start doing it on purpose :D

As a child I learnt pretty quickly (possibly because my dad was shouting it at me): If it's not broken, don't fix it!

Lol ditto. Infact this is *exactly* why my megadrive 32x is on the way to Bryce in the first place. :(

That is actually very wise. For instance I have seen plenty of people destroying machines just because they wanted to recap them when the old capacitors were still kicking and OK...

What are you wanting done to it.
I have a few MegaDrives and a few 32x's lying around. Always curious as to what people do with old consoles

It needs fixing after my desperately botched region switch :( I hope Dr Bryce can restore it to health ;) I have every confidence.

That's a major problem with people over-estimating their electronics knowledge and soldering skills (and what keeps me very busy). Unfortunately, they sometimes put the gear beyond repair, which is sad.
Bryce.
I used to sell region switched 32x's online.
Still have a few I could sell.
They sell very well and for a very good price

Classical mistake you make when you are a teenager. Or at least, it happened to me. I never destroyed a machine, but I remember, for example, to overheat a solder point removing a capacitor and having to reconstruct a part of the track afterwards, or assuming that all the old stereo amplifiers would sound like crap just because the capacitors were very old. In some cases this is actually true and you need to replace a few, but in many others there is nothing wrong with it. I have a tube amp around (my uncle makes and restores these kind of things since forever) with oil capacitors that works simply great after God knows how many years :)

If mine is destroyed, what sort if price are we talking? I may be interested.
Edit: thinking about it, I may be interested anyway! I have 2 md2 consoles so I may be interested in another one anyway.
I sent a pm.
Ooh I'd love me a 32x...
Only a handful of games.... But virtua racing deluxe is really great fun.
And stella assault
;) so pleased to be getting region free 32x again.

Not being a MegaDrive owner or fan, I passed up an offer for a 32x and bundle of 32x games (all Japanese titles as far as I can remember) for a stupidly low price a few months back :picard: I'd no idea of their rareness or how many would have wanted it. I dare not mention the price!
Bryce.
You know the best thing about this forum.... The freedom to discuss any retro (or even modern) platform and not get abuse or arguments of them. I cannot imagine other specific retro forums being as accommodating and I love it ;)
Thanks guys for allowing me to follow this flight of fancy into 68000 based gaming on the MD and A600. ;)

Out of interest, how much would you sell a region switched 32X for ?
I still have my megadrive somewhere ;D

The 32x is getting quite expensive to buy now but games too.
I've always considered you sensible and intelligent.
I'm re-evaluating that :D
I was having an off day that day, had my hands full with other stuff I'd just picked up and had already spent more than I had intended.
Bryce.
OK. Bryce could unfortunately not find his 23pin Amiga rgb connectors, so I am still in the market for a cable if any one can help I'd be grateful.
