Title: Insane IBM-PC demo (has Motorola 6845)
Post by: emuola on 18:25, 02 May 15
I really cannot tell, if this is any help for ambitious CPC h4x0rs, but the number of colours etc seems to be pretty hard core indeed :D

Hi emuola!

There's already a thread about the demo here:
Revision 2015 8088 demo (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/other-retro/revision-2015-8088-demo/)

They use specific attributes of the IBM PC CGA graphics cards to generate the colours; the way it is done it cannot be replicated on the CPC.
Nevertheless, it is a very interesting article. :)

Yes it's impressive.

It relies on composite colour and NTSC television colour artifacting.

We can't use artifacts like these on CPC.

1. CPC image is not converted into composite and then back again by a television
2. CPC monitor is closer to PAL which uses a different method to encode colours.

But it has been show it is possible to have some artifacts in cpc's mode 2 on a cpc monitor.
So we may be able to do something.

Ok, sorry to double post. I tried to search, but apparently used the wrong phrase(s).
