Title: My build of a cheap & great looking, no solder, C64 PSU
Post by: Starglider on 19:41, 28 January 18
Hi guys, here it is! The video where I attempt to build a cheap, easy, no solder, SEXY, Commodore 64 replacement power supply. I've been excited to share this with my Amstrad friends here. Please feel free to like, subscribe, and share. Let me know what you think in the YouTube comments. I hope you enjoy it!

Will watch it later, but in the meantime, $35 is not very cheap, is it? Of course there might be the fun of actually doing it, but other than that is there a real advantage?

Replacement C64 supplies can be $90 or $100. There are $43 ones but they look ugly. All this is discussed in the video.

My aim was to make one for $35 that looks beautiful, and requires no power tools or soldering, kind of like Lego. I don't think that has been done before.

Oh, I suspected that about the c64 bricks, but really had no idea. Thanks for the clarification :)

I thought it was a really good idea. The expensive part was the actual PSU style enclosure. Using a different enclosure would have saved some $$$ but would have lost some of the sexeh. Either way, preventing the unnecessary death of retro equipment always gets a thumbs up!

Glad you liked it!! There are cheaper alternatives out there. I might mention that in the description!
